This route starts from a lay by off of Charlton Road. I couldn’t find a postcode, but if you head to ‘Quirky Campers’ (BA3 5TN), and then with that on your right, take the next right turning onto Charlton Road and the lay by is almost immediately on your left.

It’s a great route, with very minimal road walking and not too much livestock. When we walked (April) we didn’t have to share any of the paths with livestock, however there were some in adjacent fields and plenty of sheep poop around so presumably they are in the fields at certain times of the year. There are a few uphill sections but nothing too awful. There are also a few places for a paddle if your dogosaur is so inclined, as some stretches follow a stream.

The route is just over 8 miles and took us around 3 hours to walk at a decent pace.
