Walking Route; Wotton Under Edge, Gloucestershire

This route starts from Chipping car park in Wotton Under Edge, GL12 7BD. It was free to park when we visited (April 2021). It is around 7 miles long and should take just under 3 hours.

There are a few steep climbs, including Tor Hill, but you’re rewarded with gorgeous views! The route follows part of the Cotswold Way, and goes through Newark Park as well at one point - dogs are asked to be kept on lead here. When we walked we saw lots of fields with sheep and lambs, but we didn’t have to walk through any. In fact, we even found a little lamb that was the road side of his field so I lifted him back over to his family!

There are a couple of streams along this route, but it is quite open so be careful with dogs on hotter days and make sure you take plenty of water. There is also one section along a quiet country lane. There are tonnes of footpaths round here for variation if you would like - we chose the paths that avoided the sheep as Aslan gets a bit noisy with them and we didn’t want to disturb the lambs!

All in all we really enjoyed this route and highly recommend it!
