Tuna Dogosaur Cake Recipe

Yesterday (8th June 2021) was Sabre’s 3rd Gotcha Day with me! To celebrate, I baked him and his brothers a delicious tuna cake. It was super easy and all 4 of them gobbled it up - they can be a little bit picky sometimes but not with this! Don’t worry, Patch did get a slice too, he just didn’t want to be in the photo!

Ingredients:

170g tuna (drained)

2 tablespoons plain flour (gluten free if your dog is an allergy sufferer)

1 large egg

2 tablespoons cheddar cheese

1 medium potato (for the frosting)

1 carrot, grated (optional)

Method:

1 - Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees. Line a cake tin with greaseproof paper.

2 - In a bowl, mix together the tuna, egg, flour and cheddar together until combined.

3 - Put the batter in the cake tin and bake for 15-20 minutes.

4 - Whilst the cake cooks, cut up the potato into small chunks and boil until they are soft. Drain and then mash together with a fork or a masher. If you’re using carrot, mix the carrot into the mash.

5 - Remove the cake from the oven once cooked, transfer to a plate and spread the mash on top. I added some little kibble biscuits onto the top as well! Perfect for a number if it’s your dogosaurs birthday!

I hope your dogosaurs love this as much as mine did!
